There are checkboxes to the right of the messages.  Check the messages you want to delete.  Scroll down and there is a drop down menu next to a "go" button.  Select "delete" from the drop down menu and click "go."

Another option is looking at the left side of the screen (when in the mail or inbox section) for the ‘Messages’ box and select ‘Empty PM Folders’.

If you are using a computer, look for your user name at the upper right side of the page.  There is a gear next to it.  Click on that and a menu comes up with one of the options being "Inbox."
