Thought I'd just throw this out. I have a early Bronco rear end under my roadster. It has a 5x5.5" lug pattern and can't be re-drilled because of the hole in the axle for the flange bolts. If I could find the right wheels in that bolt pattern I would use them. The other option is to buy new custom axle's with the 5x4.5" lug pattern and still find the slots. Anybody got any ideas or have some for sale. Are there any axles that will swap into the 66 Bronco rear end to change the lug pattern? The center section is offset a couple inches so I don't think Mustang axle's will work.

I had that problem and used adapter plates, still have them somewhere. They went from 5.5, to I think 4 3/4. Never had any problems with that set up, it was on a truck with a stout FE for power. I can try to locate them, if you are interested in them.

Wait a minute, the roadster is getting a Hemi, right? How many splines are your current axles? If 28, then you need to upgrade. Factory 28 spline axles are not very strong at all.

In a roadster, even with 12" gum rubber slicks, those axles will be safe. Burn out time!

From what I've been told about the engine spinning the tires will be no problem. I don't like the monster rear tire treatment but would like to run a 10" tread width and possibly some drag radials. The adapters are good but they move the wheel out to where I think about an inch will stick out under the fenders. I prefer them to be underneath. I'm also looking into finding a set of aftermarket axles with the 4.5" bolt circle.
