Gentlemen, I'm looking for an oil pressure sending unit for my '56 Merc Montclair. Nos or aftermarket is fine. Anyone have a source for me to buy from?

Johnny B;
You can try MAC's Antique Auto Parts, Bob Drake, Dennis Carpenter, Obsolete Ford Parts, etc. They all have on-line catalog sites. You might also find one on Ebay.

Good Luck

Thank you Ronno. But none of those companies carry it. It is a one year part. I'm trying e-bay. It will take awhile.

Johnny, my memory is foggy, but I think the 1956 Montclair maybe has an oil pressure gauge, not an idiot light.  If so, the same part ( maybe with a different P/N) was possibly used on Lincolns and likely MD and HD trucks.  Try HILL'S THUNDERBIRD CENTER in Ohio (www.hillsresto.com) as Marv or one of his son's may be able to point you in the right direction, if they do no have one. I assume you have checked L/M club sources also?

The Sender You are looking for used on 1956 Mercury's is Part # B6A-9278-A. There are 2 on Ebay. Listing #'s 401074043920 and 182008208143. You can also just use the Part # as your search. Now that You have a Part # You can also check other possible Sources searching that part #. It was only used for 1956 on Mercury+Canadian Monarch Passenger Cars but may have been used on  some Trucks etc. Make sure You use the correct Part # to search as the "B" is the small one used with Light.
