Got an e-mail from Meltdown Drags, race is July 15 - 17, 2016. Pre-registration opens  Jan. 2th at midnight. I'm going to try and make it again this year, maybe with dragster. I had a great time, tech was easy, people at track treated you great.
Only thing that would have been better is if they hadn't put the Y-Blockers way in the back !

As for where they pit us I have tried ever since this event started to get a better pit location and in my unbiased opinion is to not use the word "YBLOCK" when we get there and for me to get there later so they don't even see me until we are parked. This is a 90% GM event so we are down on the totem pole. In my opinion the Hunnert Car Heads Up on June 4th is a more friendly event and without the crappy rules about rims their only rule is the 1965 and earlier and happy to have you and you don't have to be in the staging lines for hours to make a run! The down side is it is only a one day event but Byron Dragway races both days.

Hi Vic,
Where can I get info on the Hunnert meet? What track is it at? Don't get me wrong I had a great time and the parking wasn't that bad. When we got there the front spots were pretty full. Your right it hard to justify driving a long way for a one day meet. Is the T-Bird ready to go?

Larry here is a link to their site; http://hunnertcarheadsup.com/  It is June 4th 2016 at Byron Dragway, I ran my race bird last year, here is what he said when I sent a picture to see if it met their requirements. "WOW!  All I can say is HELL YES BRING IT!!!" Not quite era correct but pre 1965.

It is another great Ford race engine. It is fuel injected with a glide. The fastest I have run with it is a 9.1? at 147 MPH at last years Hunnert car heads up. If the motor ever goes away it will get a "Y" but until then the Cleveland is great.

Thanks Vic,
I checked out the Hunnert meet but it's to far for me to come for a one day meet. I bought this ramp truck last year for a great price (little to nothing) Been sitting for a time but it's in great shape just needs small stuff like brake lines and gas tank replace. Going to paint it black and have it lettered up like a 60s hauler, put the 56 on back and dragster in trailer behind truck. I could leave it red and come borrow your bird and take it for a test drag !!! It would look good on the back of ramp truck !

Just received my conformation for the Meltdown Drags, It was number 214. Looks like it's filling up faster this year.
Doesn't cost anything to Pre Register you pay when you get there. Had a great time last year, wouldn't miss it this year.

Hi Dean,
Wow, You have great taste in cars! We need to put them side by side and get some photos. It was my first time there last year and only the second time i've had the car to the dragstrip, I didn't get much time to look all the other cars over. This year I'll make time and yours will be one of the first.
