Are the after market t-bird valve covers any good, or should I hold out for an original set? Larry's T-Bird is having a Black Friday sale and his price seems reasonable given the prices I've seen on eBay.

I haven't seen a set of those in person. But everything else I've bought from Larry's has been fine.

My OEM covers really aren't up to today's standards, and not for lack of polishing and touch up. The castings just aren't as nice as we're used to.

Original vs repro sold as "blemished".   Fins show bit 'o porosity and details are polished excessively losing the crispness.  I bought one just for a mate for a singleton I got years ago.... good enough for my engine stand "display" motor. Even less than perfect, they're still one of the best looking valve covers made.  Barry L

Here's another option, J Mummert's covers. The Edelbrocks have been drilled for oilers and the FORD one is Jet Hot coated. The T-Bird repros are better than the "blem" one I bought shown in the above post.

Note that the price of those valve covers from Larry's Thunderbird is for one valve cover, not a pair.  I made the mistake of ordering without realizing that the price was for a single valve cover.  They came and the bird's head is not very distinct, and the definition is buffed round.  OK, but not what I was expecting.  Joe-JDC

My originals have a brushed finish on the TBird logo. The repo ones I have seen are polished on the logo and rounded as mentioned by others.
