I'm curious, I have an original E Code 57 intake that I intend to use on a medium performance 292. I will be using original 4v teapots. I was wondering if anyone knows of a high rise dual quad intake that will work with my tepots? This engine will be mostly about "looks"! The performance part is just so I can " light em up" once a day for my own satisfaction. Not lookin to buy right now, just some info for the future. Thanks, Rowen

I don't have an answer about a different intake, but you can always add spacers to make it hi rise.

I have 4 spacers that I'm going to port to the intake but that only puts em up an inch. Was thinking 2" would "look pretty cool". 4 spacers and 5 gaskets.....loads of places to leak.....? I don't want to sacrifice performance just because I "think" it will look cool. Mostly I'm just musing at this point. Thanks for your input Charlie.

The 'E' set-ups on the '57 'Birds used a 3/16 inch aluminum spacer between the Holley 4000s and the intake manifold.  -That's all Ford had room for under the 'Bird hood.  The Ford passenger car 'E' set-ups used a 1/2 inch phenolic plastic spacer between the Holley 4000s and the intake manifold.

In going along with Charlie's comment...  Any effort to isolate the carb from the FoMoCo original 'air gap' style aluminum intake manifold should help to reduce carb and fuel bowl temperature.  Ted Eaton did quite a bit of dyno testing of various y-block 2x4 set-ups.  Click the links below for some good info. to tease your thinking...

At the recent "Rodder Days" here in Tucson, there was a Ford coupe with a "Y" - that had a pair of Offy adapters bolted on a dual four manifold. They lifted the two carbs about 5"-6" and offset one in each direction like a "cross-ram". I didn't photograph the combo - but I've seen those 90º offset Offenhauser parts on epay a few times.........not cheap as I recall.

Yep, I've read every word in both of those articals. I was happy to see the results of the 9425 D. Wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst either. Also I really like the look of the teapots on top, they are a TALL carb. I also saw that he had two spacers (which I have) sittin under them. . I'm kinda liking the velocity stacks. They look a little sinister, and THAT'S the look I'm going for. I have already removed the skirts, the wide whites, and the full wheel covers, wraped and boxed them up. No, they are not for sale. :0) I painted the wheels black, new black wall radials and some 50 dog dish hub caps. Got a lot of compliments on her at the CAM (California Automobile Museum) cruise and show last weekend. Thanks for all the comments and advice. You can bet ill be back for more!! Rowen

I don't think you'll have any problem stacking 2 spacers.

Looking at the Edelbrock manifold with adapters  for new carbs in Ted's article, it looks like a 2" spread bore spacer could be modified quite easily for use with a T-pot, if you only want to use one spacer..

Charlie, I sent a e-mail to Ted this morning asking about those 2" spacers. He's a busy man, so ill give him a few days and see if he gets back to me. If not, ill call maybe late next week. Those Offenhouser (?) "cross ram" spacers/runners are awsome looking! Unfortunately, with my budget I'm afraid they are WAY out of my reach, assuming I could even find some. Thanks fellas for showing interest. I have quite a while before I actually start the build so ill keep looking till i find just the "right" set up. Appreciation all around, Rowen

There are gobs of the Offy cross ram adapters and linkage kits on Ebay. Not sure of your budget but I think a set of those would make your engine stand out at any show.

Here’s a picture of some Teapot/WCFB carburetor spacers being tested this upcoming weekend on a Teapot equipped dual quad intake.  These spacers are ¼”, 1.00”, and 2.00” in height.
