Another source you can try is "Auto Tran" located in Massachusetts. They also specialize in Ford O Matics and I just bought a rebuild kit from them (didn't need the band though). Their e-mail is; info@autotrans.us

Have a look at Ebay item # 270727761572. Described as 1956 Fordomatic front Band with Part #. You might want to verify that # is correct.

When I researched my 56 Ranch Wagon Ford O Matic I found out that there were different case sizes for those transmissions for the 56 model year. You need to know whether you have the small or medium case tranny which I think also dictates the type of bands used. For 1956 models with a 292 or a 312, the case was small except if you have a Police Interceptor, Wagon or T-Bird. Those three used a medium case. I have a 312  in my wagon so I have the medium case transmission.

I looked up the Part # in my Parts Book. It fits the majority of Fordo's with one exception. Do you have the ID # off the Tag riveted to the Case? I can verify for sure if this is correct for your Trans. These are very hard to find especially as an original Ford Part.

That's the same one listed on Ebay. The majority are Small Case.Only a couple like 312 and Station Wagon are "Medium Case".
