does any one have a spring for the idler arm on a 57 sedan with the factory brackets, or suggestions on any thing that will work in its place. or where to find a reproduction. I tried Frank, he doesn't have any.

You can try John Erb in Carson City, NV. His e-mail address is; johnerb@sbcglobal.net. His phone number is 775-883-6494. I visited his shop a few years back and he also rebuilt and modified my VS-57 unit. He has more supercharger parts than I knew existed!

If Jon dosen't have one try Paradise Wheels in California. Craig Connely also bought up a lot from McCulloch and is decent to deal with.

Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

Ditto on both those guys above. I can vouch for them too. They have been very helpful when I was putting one together a few years back.

Now that Frank is out of springs, I think there are no other sources.    If a few of use would like to get there and get another run of springs done, that will be our only option.   I know of some others that are needing springs as well.   I'll have to check with Frank and see what the minimum order quantity is to make another run.

Frank Rice may suggest contact with Don Antilla for a spring for your passenger car supercharger set-up.  Contact Frank for Don's contact info.

Hope this helps.

Some years back, when I bought the 'bird F code setup from Don, he was out of springs. It's the only thing I don't have, aside from a couple oil of lines. I think the 'bird spring was different from the pass car version, at least from the pass car unit I bought from Frank for my roadster. If you turn up a bird spring, let me know.

Hmmmm... someone told me recently that Don Antilla was supplying Dan Evans (Pennsyvania) with the '57 Ford SC springs that he has been selling.  In looking on eBay this evening I did not find a listing from Evans for SC springs.  I'll see if I can get something more concrete on this for you, Miker.  Smile

I'm learning.  Yes, the 'F' passenger car SC idler arm spring is different from the 'F' 'Bird SC idler arm spring.

As Pat suggested above, Frank Rice is probably the best Forum member to turn to for info on sourcing the '57 Ford spec spring.  Unfortunately, John 'The Hoosier Hurricane' has not been able to resolve his computer problem with our website.  It's likely he would have relevant info. for you, too.

I'm not helping much here.    Sad
