I was watching some later episodes of Mayberry RFD in color, and saw Aunt Bea's 55 Sunliner. W hat a beautiful car. I'd like one just like it with Overdrive.

The Andy Griffith show also featured Ford cars in every episode because Ford paid a promotional consideration in the shows.

I figure Mayberry had one heck of speed trap. Andy had a NEW Ford every year. -Dave

I figure Mayberry had one heck of speed trap. Andy had a NEW Ford every year. -Dave That's how you could tell what year the episode was filmed. By looking at what year Andy's Sheriff's car was. Sure, the later ones were in color, so there's that. Anyone remember the episode where Barney bought a '54 (I think) from a sweet little old lady - who happened to be part of a scam?

just loved (and still do} watching all the cool old fords on the andy griffith show. as I recall, barneys car was a 54 4dr sedan but when they showed the dash I think that was a 52 or 53.after don knotts left the show, he returned later in an edsel convertible.

Maybe its just me but I cant see Aunt Bea's character driving a convertible. I think she would be a 2 or 4dr sedan person. Chuck

Mayberry cued up next on the list. Gome' and Goob' rock the fillin' station. Slowly working through Twilight Zone now where there's always a sweet surprise. Last episode sported a '56 F100 panel ambulance hauling off the bad guy after he was mowed down by a '55 Buick Roadmaster.
