Por 15 makes a high temp paint for exhaust manifolds,its been on my manifolds for 6 years and still looks great  Carl

IF....you can see fit to expend the bucks, look into having the iron manifolds ceramic coated. I had mine done by "JetHot" - and used the aluminum finish, but it is also available in a cast iron gray. Not only does it look very sharp - but it can cut your "under-hood' temperatures immediately. At the time, they cost $225 and were back in a week. They  may be able to put the heat funneling aluminum surface on the inside and gray on the outside - dunno.  

Not a cheap fix - but I finally just saved the beer money for a few weeks and bit the bullet. My wife and the Doc were happy - so was the 'Bird.

I used cast gray from Eastwood 3 years ago and they still look great. Like Greebird said my son had his headers coated in a titanium color by a local company like jet hot . They are the cross over rear style like used on late model dirt race cars and they really handle the heat well and lowered the under hood temp a lot...good luck.

The ceramic coated sounds the best but a little more than I care to spend.  I like Eastwood products. Does there exhaust paint require any special prep or primer?   DaveV

I used Cast Blast High Temp on the manifolds of my TBird and they have held up very well, including two trans-continental trips/

I have used the Eastwood paint for years on an old set of Headman headers. No primer used. Get them clean and paint. Sandblasting would probably be the best prep. Brushed mine. Simple to touch up if you have any problem areas down the road. Just repainted mine again for my current re build. Been over 20 years since the last repaint and I would say the paint was 80% intact.

Try pot belly stove paint . It looks good. Easy to apply by brush  . Should be available at most hardware stores . Very  cheap. Very heatproof .

I have used this stuff in the past.  http://www.hirschauto.com/EXHAUST-AND-MANIFOLD-COATING/productinfo/EMPT-PINT/ and it is a lot better than the spray cans.  The guy who runs the U-Blast facility I use loaned me a can to do some headers.  From the amount I used one pint would do at least dozen sets.  The add says it dries quickly.  I didn't find that to be true.  I had to heat them up before they were dry enough to install. Comes in a variety of colours.
