Hi guys,

Im down to the finding the last few parts for our '56 Sunliner.  One item I need is the passenger side Vent window assy (ours is warped!)  I found someone who has a 55 vent assy; he says that if you remove the rain shield and fabricate an extension, it will work.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  The perfectionist in me feels like I should really only use a 56 part for a 56; but the part of me that has been looking for this for several years thinks I should just find a way to make it work....
This car is not going to be a daily driver, so I am somewhat concerned with the details, etc.

Anybody have any thoughts or insight?  Opinions?

Thanks!

CArl,

Thanks for the response!  I guess my preference would be to NOT deal with fabbing an adapter, and taking out the rain visor, etc.

If you have a vent window assy from a 56 Sunliner that you would be willing to part with, Id much rather get the "right" part than try to adapt one from a '55.  Are the sunliner ones unique tot he convertible?  I always thought they were.

I need the one for the passenger side; Im not worried about it needing replating; the one from teh 55 needs that as well....

If you want, you can email me at rongrove(at)comcast.net  Please let me know if you have the right part.  THANK YOU!

The 56 crown vent window assembly will not fit a 56 sunliner. The only thing interchangeable is the vent window itself but the outer housing assembly the vent window fits into will not work from the crown to the conv.
