Whats the deal with the 57 dist? Vacuum?

The earlier dual vacum loadamatic are junk for tuning purposes. Especialy if you change to a later type carb. Most people are suprized at the difference it makes by changing the distributor alone. Do a search for loadamatic and you will find a LOT of interesting reading on the subject. Chuck

Chuck: If I understand the original post correctly, he's not using a later carb.. it's a 56 Lincoln carb..

The lincoln carb should fit without an adaptor if it is of the small bolt pattern. but he said a new carb be it lincoln or whatever and that could mean for a later year for which he would need an adaptor plate. Maybe a futher explaination of what year intake and year the new carb is for could help???
