Marc: Is it a car version? I found out, the hard way, that (some?) truck versions don't have provision for choke heat..

This must be a car version as it has a fitting for a choke tube on the crossover.

If you have a manifold with no provision for the the heat tube just use a kit to install the stove in the exhaust manifold.This is what Ford did at some point as a service repair replacement.I see the kits on Ebay quite often.Just runs a heat tube in a sock from the manifold up to the choke thermostat like the 60's 289-302 motors did.

Hi Paul.They are called choke conversion kits or choke kits.Next time I see one i will let you know.They come up every so often for about $10.00 or so.They are actually shown in the Ford parts catalogue as a "service replacement" for the choke tube setup in the intake manifold which as we know rusts out after a period of time.There was one on my car when I got it although now with the later Holley with electric choke i dont need it.

Thanks Mark. I'm wanting to use a Ford/Autolight 1.08 on my 4 Bbl intake installation. And since I'm in the Northern latitudes, a working choke would be nice. Don't know if an electric choke conversion was or is offered for that carb?.

The truck 4bbl's were governed with matching distributor, they were a little rich and were governed at 3800rpm but the lowend torque from them was amazing.
