Larry.  Can you explain why the pistons and rings have some run time on them?

They were in my original 312 motor that I just had rebuilt 060. After I put the motor back in the car I noticed that the blocked was cracked so the motor had to be replaced. I purchased (2) excellent condition 312 blocks and put one in my car and the other is 4 sale.

Normally I’d think you were looking at a date code but date codes typically have a letter for the second digit whereas yours has a ‘6’.  If that ‘76L’ is indeed the date code, it breaks down as June 11, 1957.  Can you post a picture?   Going to the top of the 'This N That' section will get you the instructions for picture posting.
