By technic49 - 14 Years Ago I'm trying to decide what would be the best cam set up for my 55 Bird.  I'm not going to race it, except when I am getting on the expressway or passing.  Its a 292 Fordomatic with a 3.31 rear end.  The car will have a Holly 365, modern dizzy, stock heads (1.78), b intake and headers depending on cam choice. Considering Mummert's Y-265S or Y-270S.  Will I need special timing chain sprockets as in the link below. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150388109897&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT By Glen Henderson - 14 Years Ago Larry, give John Mummert a call, he can advise you on the best cam and components for your driving conditions. By Ted - 14 Years Ago Be sure to degree in the camshaft when you intall it.  Stackups due to variances at the crankshaft keyway, crank timing gear keyway slot, camshaft keyway, and cam gear keyway slot can all add up to be significant amount thus requiring some adjustment during assembly to insure that the camshaft is installed in the desired position.
