My 56 F-100 is just a streetRod!! But after 30 years in the business, I don't think I ever met a set of Headers that didn't "LEAK" or burn your arms under the hood!!! My F-100 with a 312 has the original manifolds with one side reversed and I get along fine with them, (duel's of course)

Your comments welcome .....

Have you ever thought of a set of "Ram Horns" They look nice and should give you no leak problems. You can find old OEM ones on eBay or buy new ropos from Mummert.

"SUPREME"; Are they cast Iron or? ... The Y- Block site is new to me, I was introduced just last week by "Yellow Brick Charlie". Would I actually gain, with headers or just show? As I said, I have duals with reversed manifold's ...Hope to get some answers on my entry, Easy to use/fit/whatever, regarding Toyota P/S on my F-100 .....

The rams horn manifolds are cast iron.  I suspect that the ones from Mummert are better in the flow department than a stock rams horn.  But don't take my word for it.  Give him a call.

Headers should enhance the performance.  For your street driven streetrod, Tri-y's from Stan's headers may be a good choice.  I would be using the tri-Y's if only they fit 61-64.  All of the other tube designs are quite similar.  I doubt there's much performance difference between them.

I have Stan's headers too. The name of his company is is FPT (FORD Power Train).

He makes a quality product.

My headers are for the tbird, but he makes them for your app. too, as Charlie said.

AND HIS DO NOT LEAK.

Ford powertrain, as of1.5 years ago, do not produce headers for a truck. That could have changed by now. When I talked with them they said they made truck headers in the past. There wasn't enough demand so they stopped. Somewhere along the way the tooling was lost.

Alan, I bought just a regular set of long headers from Mid Fifty last year and they worked fine on my 56.  Did have a slight clearance issue on the passanger side but no other issues.

Sacramento Vintage Ford sell headers but I am not sure what make they are.

I have used them for quite a few parts and have found them extremely helpfull.

Thanks for straightning me out on that Charlie. And good to know of another header source. I've always "needed" a 57-64 ford pickup. Wink

BFFOOTER, your 56 pickup looks AND sounds great, i caught it on UTUBE.

Sure would make a good vehicle for pulling the bird to Columbus!

Hoosier has a real nice setup. I envy it. Is it a '53? I would love to find a 40s COE to make into a car hauler.

I agree, but I profess to always drive it, as it's a street setup.

I would only trailer a drag car or something that was broken. At least that's my story for now.

I like road trips in it, the last time I drove it to Columbus I think I was in Indiana, getting fuel, when I guy was so impressed with my bird, he remarked "that he thought FORD really did a nice job with them and had I ever driven one of the original ones to compare?" Just for muy own amusement, I said no. Always good for some kind of conversation if you want it.BigGrin

Hoosier's setup is cool! That I WOULD do.
