I just received the New Aluminum Intake Manifold  I ordered from Blue Thunder. This is a new Item for them. Exact Copy of the ECZ-B Manifold except it is Aluminum. Not a high Performance One as stated in Listing on Ebay. Just a stock replacement Manifold. Why am I spending Money on a stock Manifold? Couple of Reasons. MUCH Lighter than the Cast Iron One. About 15 Pounds. I expect it will also help with cooling as Aluminum does not retain Heat the way Cast Iron does. I am very impressed with the finishing on this Manifold. Blue Thunder has a pretty good reputation for Quality Products  I think. I have an Aluminum Mummert Valley Pan to go on my Project and now a little more Bling with the Intake.http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/47492085-ae9f-4009-97c1-ddf4.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/c85e513e-059d-4487-9375-8385.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/b1f85683-8071-4b52-853f-144e.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/fa9cf409-1009-46ee-a4bf-b4b9.jpg

I think you have one of the new intakes from overseas, not a Blue Thunder.  Unless he has changed his molds, the Blue Thunder has the part number and the newest version has the firing order on them.  Just an observation.  Joe-JDChttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/1031206e-c9d2-4c57-8d61-e8d0.jpg

These are cast You Know where and finished in USA. They are not labelled as Blue Thunder but finished and sold by Blue Thunder People. Marketed as a stock replacement  non Performance Manifold. See Listing on Ebay. Just what I wanted for stock rebuild.

As long as you didn't pay Blue Thunder prices for it, then all is good.  Selling locally for ~$200-225.00 US.  Hate to see anyone get ripped off.  Joe-JDC

Aluminum, like all metals, is a conductor. It will heat up faster than cast iron, but it will also cool down faster. When hot, it will retain heat, just as any conductor would. I particularly recall a recommendation to use a phenolic carburetor spacer whenever both manifold and carburetor are made of aluminum, but I don't remember the source. As far as weight saving is concerned, I guess that's a plus when it comes time to install/remove it, or if you plan on racing.

Definitely a TSP manifold. Mis-matched runner floor and oblong water port are pretty good tells of that. It's a nice manifold for the price. Currently in stock but have gone up to $285 since their last batch a few months back.
