Does anyone have a source for shaft bushing for Y block distributors? The later ones with the hinged advance plate.
Thanks

Can you post the DIST ID NO found on the bowl to make sure you get the correct one?

The one shown below is a rebuild and had the ID NOS taken off (one fits all ... Wink ) but will give you an idea where to find them.

Stamped in is COAE and at another place is CBE the cast in number is 2127 with an A stamped in behind it.
Thanks for the help

Could the DIST ASSY ID NO (STAMPING) be C0AF-12127-A?

If so, the upper busing is B8QH 12120-A and is available repro here -

Here is a couple of names that may have what you want.,  Both restore ford distributors
Lee Johnson  812-598-8965
Lou Sumas 440-439-5628
A long shot, but there is a company that sells distrubutor gears - Distributorgears.com - maybe they can help
CASCO sells bushings, but they are for  TBird disributors.  Maybe they will work ?  They have ones for the 55/56 units  as well as the 57 units.  Might be the same as the later units

KULTULZ , yes it loos like you are right. that may be an F and also it could be a 1 before the 2. So does it look like this distributor has only one bushing?

Hello  As I remember few Tbirds vendors sold them. Problem is burnishing after installation, I think it requires a special size reamer for final fit.

If you haven't already disassembled your distributor, it might be best left to a professional. Someone on another forum attempted to disassemble his and ended up breaking the distributor housing.                                      As far as bushings go, I'm not aware of any OEM Y-block distributor having more than one bushing. There is a company (don't remember the name) that will add a second bushing during the rebuild, but they are not cheap. The aftermarket CRT electronic distributor has two bushings.

Yours (ID by DIST ASSY ID NO) only came through with the top  bushing unless it was possibly modified to fit a lower bushing at some point.

OK, Great. Thanks to all who helped, I'll get a bushing and see how it goes.

KULTULZ, Thanks for the help, The bushing you recommended was the correct one and it was a straight forward process to install it, no reaming needed. I did chuck up the new bushing in the lathe and cut 1 thousand off the outside for about 1/8" just so it would start in the bore straight.
