The 292 engine in the car that I recently bought had been converted to have a modern type spin on oil filter rather than the original canister & can type.  I am restoring the car back to the original canister type filter.  I removed that hollow threaded center adapter bolt/nut and I thought that the round adapter plate would be released from the engine block but the plate is stuck to the block and won't come out.  Is there something else holding the adapter plate other than the center bolt/nut?  I am trying to remove the plate without destroying it as I wanted to use it on another engine that I have. Thanks

No. It’s just stuck. Work at it with a 90* pick through the oil hole until lit releases. Do you need a canister?

Got it with a long screw driver and a hammer and the thick gauge metal wasn't even damaged.  Someone had Permatexed the adapter to the engine block and this is why it was stuck.  Thanks

If you need a canister, I have an extra one
