Check the linkage seal, it will run down the side to the pan.

Done that. It is the Pan Gasket itself leaking.

I have the best luck with a dry pan with no sealer, do not over tighten the bolts, make sure the pan is straight.

Sealers are not recommended when using a Gasket. should be put on dry as You mentioned. The Specs call for 10 FT/Pounds of Torque on the Bolts.

Often the bolts have been previously over tightened and distorted the pan flange. I always put the pan edge on an anvil and tap each bolt hole location with a hammer to level the flange.

I thought the pan was my leak, then the fill tube, but found it was the breather about 3/4 up the side just as the case transitions to the bell. On a different trans I found SBC tin rocker arm cover spreaders put even pressure on the gasket and stopped a weeping leak. . Good luck
