So while I had my transmission and torque converter out to be rebuilt I lost one of the torque converter bolts and nut. I've looked everywhere for it but cannot locate it. Anybody know where I can source a replacement? Any help would be much appreciated.

What are you working on?

It's a 1957 Lincoln Premier. The bolt holds the two halves of the torque converter together as well as to the flex plate.

If Ted doesn't have one, I recommend you contact some one in a Lincoln club for it. Any chance it is the same as a Fordomatic??

It appears to be the same for the MERC-O-MATIC but a different size for the FORD-O-MATIC -

If you can't find another bolt, what I would do is use a standard hex head bolt, nut, and lockwasher. Then 180 degrees from that replacement bolt I would remove the original bolt and install exactly the same combination as the replacement bolt/nut to assure the balance of the converter.

The bolts appear to be the same as my '55 T-bird, Hill's Thunderbird catalog shows:
*7964-A Bolt Ring Gear to Air Cooled Torque Converter ....... Call *7964-B Bolt Ring Gear to Water Cooled Torque Converter .. Call *

mjs (12/17/2019) So while I had my transmission and torque converter out to be rebuilt I lost one of the torque converter bolts and nut. I've looked everywhere for it but cannot locate it. Anybody know where I can source a replacement? Any help would be much appreciated. I have them in the 7/8” long variety. If that’s what you need, then send me your mailing address and I’ll get you a bolt and nut in the mail. If you need more than one, just let me know. My email information is located at www.eatonbalancing.com under contact information.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. everyone. That is what I like about this forum. Yes Ted, they do measure out at 7/8". I will take two sets, bolts and nuts, if it's no problem. I will contact you further through your email.

Glad Ted could help, I know this sounds a little goofy but I was in an ACE hardware yesterday over paying for a couple of 3/8" combo studs and saw one of their tray/slide outs have what appears to be these exact bolts. Could be wrong but they were sure close. I don't know about other parts of the country but having Ace/McMaster-Carr/Hillco close local has been a godsend for me.. Good Luck
