The 55 is going to get a 272 again but not wanting the FOM this time,have been thinking about using the C-4 that is behind the 351 that is presently in it so I know the adapter pushed the trans towards the firewall so I need to kno is there enough room and no massages with a BFH needed.

No clearance problems with a C4 in my 56 Tbird. In fact, it may have more clearance than the FOM.

I have been told the tunnel in a 55 Tbird is smaller than a 56 or 57 Tbird tunnel. My car has a manual transmission with O/D and it's a very tight fit.
