Can you post a picture so we can see what options there are?

Use a bracket like this and mount it parallel to the valve cover.

45* fuel fittings are also made: Might "clear" the coil as-is.

For various reasons I can't use the original coil mount on my 'Bird so it's mounted to the firewall. Less vibration and possibly cooler, both good things.

Is it better to mount the coil in a vertical position if possible?

Only if the coil is oil filled.

Positioning the coil in an upright position is an option.

I thought all coils were oil filled although different coils may use different kinds of oil.

Some are epoxy filled.

The rule of thumb is for oil filled coils to be mounted in an upright position while epoxy filled coils can be mounted in any position.

thanks. got a bracket on order. The fuel lines don't bend. Made that mistake. They just snap. So much for a quick and easy carb swap.
