I have a VS57 that I am wanting to mount off center to the passenger side of my 62 C2AE 292... I can find some pics on Google but most of them are where its mounted directly in line with the carb. The few I can find for off center are from odd angles of the side that are not yielding good enough view points to begin to fabricate my own brackets... so the question is does anyone have a good source of information or pictures to start. Or does anyone have the magical part numbers for some factory brackets that I could scour the internet for and either buy or attempt to replicate myself? Any help is appreciated

Old picture, it’s not on the bird anymore, but something like this?

I can do more pictures, and the brackets and unit are still in the garage.

And here are pictures of a supercharger bracket for a 1956 car application.

You can contact Gord McMillan of REX Performance. He sells a supercharger kit that mounts the supercharger head off to the right side. I purchased one of his kits a few years back for my 37 coupe project, but when I tried to mount my front fenders, the engine bay was too narrow in the front and I couldn't get the front passenger fender to fit. Here is a picture of the initial mock-up. The kit does include all the brackets, pulleys, bonnet, belt, hardware etc. to set up the system along with detailed instructions and Gord is a good person to work with.http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/44251dd1-5f8a-4fa2-a462-5810.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/8f408f3a-0be3-4051-8161-1d88.jpg

Yes something like that! If you have pics from the front of the engine that would be extremely helpful!

Ted- I've never seen that bracket so that is very helpful. I might be able to track one down. ( I try to use original parts as much as possible for the nostalgia and cool factor.

Rono- I will look them up for sure and if I cant locate an original I'll used them. Plus I'm building 2 more 292s so I may end up using Rex's kit... and room wise I think I have plenty in the truck (55 F100)

I don't have any other straight on frontal shots of that motor set up, but here is two more shots from the left and right front;http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/ba9e21b1-87ef-4d63-9be7-c858.jpghttp://forums.y-blocksforever.com/uploads/images/88ff1dd8-f295-43ba-a73d-ec12.jpg

Rono- that actually helps out more than you'd think. It narrows down the mounting holes. Did you have to brace the back of the supercharger or is it "all willy nilly"

Miker- if you wouldnt mind posting pics I'd greatly appreciate it.

Gord McMillan provides a complete instruction and installation manual with his kit. It includes all the brackets you need.

McC bracket for low left hand side for tbird. I suspect but can’t tell this is the bracket used on the bird picture Ted posted. Bolted to head, had a couple metal straps that went to an exhaust manifold bolt and water pump bolt (I think)

Tension arm for above.

My home made bracket to top Did a pass side mount on the bird, mounted a GM alternator underneath

More homemade bracket. 5 IIRC block/head/water pump mounts. Using a GM diesel front belt idler as tension arm on spring. Single speed drive.

I can supply some more pictures if it’s helpful, send me a pm and I’ll get back to you next week. I think I might have a couple shots with the motor out of the car, but all assembled.
