Bellhousing

Hello .i have a 1962 292 y block out of a truck. And want to put it in my 1931 ford coupe.i also have a t-5 and i know i need an .adapter plate.so i need a bellhousing that will work car or truck ?.can a car one be modified.i know the truck one has mounting tabs on it.can they be cit off.and then there is the flywheel & clutch.

Either bellhousing will work.  You need an adapter plate with the car bellhousing or you need to modify a truck bellhousing.  If possible, get one of each to see which will fit the '31 the best.  You'll need to start with a 3 speed bellhousing.  Truck 4 speed has a different bolt pattern which would require even more modification.
The flywheel and clutch should not be a problem.

Refer to the following for some info.  It won't help with fitting to the car but might answer some questions about engine to transmission and clutch.

Ok i got it..new to this.i think the car one would work.i need to find one .the truck one has those tabs

You need a car housing, the truck one is also deeper because the truck trans has a longer input shaft.

I have car standard shift housings.  If you don't find one locally, I could ship one, but shipping cast iron probably isn't cheap.
