I have a very small leak at the thermostat housing and would like to try a sealer before pulling it apart.  Any recommendations on a sealer?

Thanks

The Barrs Leaks powder will prolly work for a small leak like that. Generous Motors installed it on the assembly line for several years and may still be doing it. Some old timers would just dump a small can of black pepper in the radiator with the engine running and warmed up. I don't think I'd try anything more aggressive than that.

do not put any of that crap in the cooling system,it plugs rad tubes and will most likely not stop the leak. just fix the leak with a new gasket and be sure surfaces are straight

When I had trouble trying to fix a small Leak at the Stat Housing I ended up cutting a new Gasket from a sheet of thicker Gasket Material using the original Gasket a a Template. Been together for 5 Years with no further Leaks.

Take the time to take it apart and fix it right the first time. You will end up taking it apart anyway.
