Hi Guys,
I have a customer with a 57 E-code TBird and he is sick of the teapot carbs. He want me to upgrade the carbs for more reliable ones while using the stock air cleaner setup. Has anyone done anything like this before and can you point me in the right direction with parts selection?
Thanks Mike

If forced into getting rid of the model 4000 Holleys (Teapots), then my vote for a simple carb change would be for the 500 cfm Edelbrock carbs with adapters under them. The closeness of the carb pads on the factory dual quad intakes does makes carb choices limited. A little imagination with some sideways mounted Holleys and appropriate linkages could have a pair of 390 cfm Holleys being used instead.

Well if hes dumping the original dual quad carbs,I"ll be the first to get in line to acquire them both.
While I have seen newer Hollys used as replacements, they dont fit under the original dual quad air filter. (So ,I"ll buy the air filter too if he"s a sellin)

I got rid of my teapots years ago. Made a couple of adapters and mounted to g.m. Throttle bodies on them. Added an electric fuel pump and an accel DFI computer and have never looked back. Great idle and low end power like it never had before.
