Does anyone have a picture they could post of an original Y Block (1956) 4 bbl (teapot carb) with the linkage attached?
With the aircleaner off
Mine is all messed up and some of it's missing after the previous owner change the carb. I have the original carb back on
Thanks

Here’s a picture of the linkage for a ’55 Ford S/W with the 182HP Special and Ford-O-Matic.  Not 1956 but should be similar.

The linkage shown is unique to the 55 so the 56 is a lot different.Dont have a picture of the 56 but I am sure someone on this site does    Carl

Good catch by Carl on the ’55 4V linkage being significantly different from the ’56 4V linkage.  With that in mind, I went searching thru some of my older pictures and found this picture of a 292 4V in a ’56 Town Sedan.  See if this helps.

I've only got the 'bird catalogs, but they show the linkage for a bird, with all the part numbers. They may no offer all the parts, but the diagram is there. Might be worth a look, combined with Ted's picture.

Kind of off topic, but one of the ones I just got has the "spring loaded" link for the overdrive bird's, that let you push thru wide open throttle and hit the kick down switch. Hadn't seen that offered before. I think it was close to $100, so they're pretty proud of it.

Kahuna, Pix is from a pretty original 56 292 4bbl with auto. If you need close ups of anything let me know.  - Bob

Thanks everyone for the help.
I'm sure I can at least get it figured out now.
It sure appears to be a complicated mess, just to
move throttle blades & a kick-down. Oh well
Thanks again

One other thing on 55,56 linkage. The 55 can be used on a 56 but a 56 will not work on a 55.The reason is the 56 sits closer to the firewall than the 55.Ford changed the firewall on the 56 cars by putting a recess behind the linkage so it has more clearance than the 55.If you compare the 55 to a 56 firewall you can see the difference.Hope this makes sense  Carl
