Thinking of Grumps suggestion, regarding buying a whole car for parts How would I find out what cars (Ford, Merc, Lincoln). between 1988 and 1993, would have the AOD? Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated. Jim

It was pretty well the standard then for Mustangs with automatics. I found mine on EBAY. I would look there, on cragislist and then the local wrecking yards. Do a search for AOD on google and see if you can find a listing of what the came in. The later AOD's were AODE's which means they are computer controlled. You would need the computer setup on your car. For that reason only a few have opted for them. If you don't mind the electronics I guess that may be a way to go. Chuck

Jim,
I've never used these guys, so I can't recommend them. I came across them some time ago, looking at the AOD's for a project that went away. You've got to dig a bit, but there's a lot of info buried in the technical and FAQ sections. Might just add to the general knowledge.
