I just finished helping Tom freshen up the 368 Lincoln from his 57 Ranchero. We hope to have some more pictures, video, and good numbers from next weeks dyno session

That's too cool for words. Several years ago, at Del Mar IIRC, there was a 57 with a similar set up with the dual quads on a 312. I have a similar bracket for the supercharger for a 292 I got from C Conley years ago. But a Lincoln? How cool. Does the dual drive system still work for high boost?

I think Commander Cody wrote a song about that engine!

So I gotta know more about that clutch setup. Can Tom elaborate on that ? I had a hell of an expensive time getting the clutch stuff right in my 368 wagon. Would really like to know how Tom did it!

Tom is running a C-4 automatic behind his. I have a couple 368's with stick trannnys. Unless you are lucky enuf to have some of the rare factory parts it can be pretty involved.

So the bell housing on the pictured engine is only for testing or mockup? I have the "rare factory parts" (or most of them) and it was still a bitch to get right. Thanks Royce Oldmics

I just put it on there to get the engine started... We will also use it to hook to the dyno.. Tom used an automatic bell for the C-4 conversion

What have you done to cure the head gasket issue? Sure looks neat.

Frank we dropped compression from a static 10.5 to 8.5 . Careful gasket prep and switched to a Best gasket. Increase bolt torque and careful re-torquing.. Changed to a cam with less cranking pressure... Pray

I think Commander Cody wrote a song about that engine!
Billy, the song was written by Charlie Ryan and referenced a V12 Lincoln. Later on Johnny Bond covered the song and changed the wording to include the V8 Lincoln. Commander Cody subsequently did a really good cover of the song and kept the V8 wording.

And that motor definately fits the bill as a Hot Rod Lincoln no matter what they were singing about!

Great looking engine.......Every V-8 looks better with dual Quads...A blower makes it even better.

Great numbers. And with an engine that’s less supported by the aftermarket industry than the Y is.

Here it is on the pump.. This is not the best pull we reduced pulley size to get the bigger numbers, but you get the idea..

WOW ! I have the same setup I'm hoping I can squeeze into a '37 lincoln. I haven't built the engine yet but do have the intake and supercharger set up. What is the bell housing and where can I get one ? mytankisfull@hotmail.com
