A sink hole appeared in the floor of the Corvette museum in Bowling green ky Wed morning. 8 cars fell into tthe hole (but there is room for lots more!) I can't wait to hear what Jerry C has to say.

I'd rather see a sink hole in Subaru Museum but a Corvette Museum is still a better choice than a Ford Museum.

I am not a fan of Chevs or Corvettes but I think it is a hell of a shame for the lovers of these cars. There were some lovely cars in that hole. Scary occurrence.

I'm with Rick. Don't like to see any collectable cars wrecked.

I am in total agreement. It's a sad thing to see that happen to any collectable or historical car.

I would have to agree with Master on this one. Even if we don't appreciate those cars, they're all part of our history. I hate to lose any of that.
And actually even some Corvettes were pretty historical, like the Mallet Hammer that's in the hole. I realize most of us won't agree with that but that's my 2 cents.

I think people are just having a little fun in the ever-present Ford .vs. GM battles. No one really wants historically significant cars to be destroyed.
All in good humor (or humour).

I agree it may be sad But we can also have a laugh. I have a place in my heart for old vettes especially that black '62. And I have taken my share of lots of jokes and heat for years having an old tbird with an obsolete old engine. Those cars will all be brought back to their full glory. Thankfully no one was injured or died.

It has been my experience that the scrub attitude we have all been exposed to is concentrated in corvette faction and the pious insistence that all things scrub are endowed better than anybody else's is at its worst with 'vette owners. So it is particularly funny that infallible GM failed to find a sink hole before they built the place as a shrine to the 'Vette. BTW I was still somewhat doped up last Weds, (I had a knee replacement Monday) or I would have seen the possibility of working in something about the GM bailout into my post.
That is not to say that there are not some really good guys building and racing scrubs, we all in our heart of hearts know that there are. But this situation is not the same as if the cars were owned by an individual who is out a lot of personal sweat and toil, they are owned by General Motors who will just pay to get them sorted out and fixed.
