Some of you know my Grandpa, Burton Jessup, passed away this past week on Christmas Eve unexpectedly. He was 83 years old, and although his health was not perfect the family had expected him to live much longer. Grandpa was the first man to introduce me (and my dad) to Y block Fords. He was a faithful man that loved his country, loved God (he was a devout born again Christian), and loved old Fords. May he rest in peace.
The above photo was taken in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, just outside the Mayberry Mall back in 1990. That's Grandpa's original Regency Purple and White 55 Crown with a 272 power pack engine and 3 on the tree. Grandma passed away about 6 years after this photo. That's me next to her, and my brother Mike on the right.

Daniel, I know your pain all to well, this fall I spent my week vacation up north with my folks, the following Thursday my dad was gone. He was 93, but not sick or in a care facility, In fact we were cutting brush in my deer blind. Hang on to the memories,

Thanks for posting, Daniel. It sounds like your Grandpa was a great guy.
This was my first Christmas without my Dad. You know, I think that God made something in us that needs deep relationships, and that's why it hurts so much when they are severed.
May you feel God's presence and compassion in your grieving.
