Where do I find the settings for mail notification when I am active in a thread?

Clarification:
I want an e-mail update when someone makes a post in a thread I have answered to or is interested in?

If you go to "topic options" at top of post and tick "add to favorites" then "notify by email" (something like that) you will get an email when someone posts to that topic.

Btw, when typing in a post, in the box below the "post reply" tab at the bottom ("post options" box) it says Topic Notifications. If you click the arrow by the default
'Do not subscribe' you can change that to 'Subscribe by email'.

Can I change the "topic notification" to "subscribe by e-mail" as default settings somewhere?

Not that i am aware of, i think you have to manually do it for each topic you are interested in.
