Is there anything you can put on freshly bead blasted aluminum ( intake manifold for example) to keep gas stains and stuff like that from soaking in?

At the speed shop today I was after something else, andt as I walked out I noticed the gibbs on the shelf. I remembered this post.
I started to pick it up to look at it an stopped when I saw the $20.00 price tag. Must be good stuff!

The web site information on this stuff is AMAZING! Definitely not inexpensive, but it sounds like THE material for preserving ANY metal that you desire to have a natural, waterproof finish on.
Lower viscosity than water, penetrates gaps as small as one micron... GooD GrieF!
Apparently available in a bottle at an earlier time. I wish it still was. -I've had too many aerosol cans go dead on me.
Sounds like it would be good for an aluminum intake and some cast iron pieces I can think of.

Wonder what the ingredients are. There are lanolin base products that supposed to do amazing things but I haven't tried them.

This stuff sounded GREAT until I read this;
" When used to protect metal from oxidization, Gibbs Brand will gradually become less effective. For best results, apply more Gibbs when your treated metal is no longer slightly wet to the touch."
It has to be constantly wet to the touch?
I say that's BOGUS! I think I'll save my money..........................

$20 per can at a local speed shop or $96 per case is a bargain compared to the prices listed on the www.roadsters.com site. After doing some research I found that a Canadian distributor for Gibbs Brand is not too far from me. I think I will check out their price, but I won't hold my breath.
P.S. Not as bad as I expected - $18.85 per can plus tax. I'll pick up a can tomorrow.

Engine clear coat. It yellows over time, but you probably won't notice it unless you have a fresh bead blasted part next to it. But I don't think there is anything that will absolutely prevent stains, except maybe never running the engine or driving the vehicle, and that is no fun.

Seen two pack paint used on engines, that is resistant to most solvents. Not sure on applying it as a clear coat only as it is usually primed.
