Or what do yo think about these numbers?

109,000 hp at 102 rpm and 7,600,000 Nm of torque (that's 7.6 million Nm)

However it´s abit thirsty, 271,32 l/min OR 59,67 gal/min

Check out the size of the flywheel, imagine how big the starter motor must be !

I'd like to see the equipment they turned the crank on... And did they send it to Ted for balancing??? w00tw00t

I heard that John Mummert already has mods for it.

Re starter motor. If it's similar to the diesel submarines they'll use sequential air pressure to fire it. Pressurising the cylinders that are stopped at or just past TDC. That will roll them over until the start injecting Fuel. Be a LOT of air in this case!!

There is a smaller gear next to the flywheel on the other side of the engine. Maybe that is a starter.

Pegleg is correct it will be air start sequentially into the cylinders. The ring gear you see is only the turning to barr the engine over.
There will probably not be a flywheel as the propellor will be connected to the engine via the propeller shaft and that will work as a flywheel. There will be a very big viscous damper also. To reverse the ship the engine will be stopped, the lifters moved on the cam and the engine restarted in the other direction. The engine is also a two stroke ported inlet and valves for exhaust. They don't show the con rod which is quite short and connects to a crosshead that the piston rod shown connects to.

ARP studs??

super attention to detail on the restoration

what suspension springs are you using on the front? i have the same rear leaf springs and got talked into reverse eye mono leafs for the front and i'm not happy. the suspension travel is barely 1"/25mm. so its going back up at some stage
