its been a while, and i suddenly decided to paint the car, its not perfect, didn't intended to be either. all i want is to have it looking good 5ft away and stop the rusting. and it end up looking awesome. totally new to painting, didn't mask it good enough and there's over spray from the 2 tone transition by the pillar. but good enough for me, not making it a show car.

rustoleum navy blue for boats, mixed with flattening agent. and rustoleum flat white for the top.

heres some pics.
lots of pics.

Great looking driveway job, You can always go back and touch up the transition points. I like the flat look.

Its been a long time since your project first appeared here. Nice to see the progress. The paint job looks great from here! Cool Chuck

Thanks for posting this! I tried doing a driveway paint job in high school and seriously botched it up. The fact that I was doing it under an avocado tree contributed to the problem.

Nice results... Did you use HVLP gear for this? Acrylic enamel?

Did you just repolish the bumpers? They look pretty good in the last pictures. Are you ready to cruise to Columbus this year? Chuck

Moonshadow...looks good...I've always like the chrome reverse with babymoons....I think they do wonders for a lot of cars. Yours looks great. Thanks

yes I bought a cheapy HLVP from harborfreight, the painter at where i used to work says its no different then the high dollar ones except for the cheap plastic cup it comes with.yeah it was pretty difficult to get it turn out this good, especially theres construction digging up dirt and dust everywhere right behind my house, i waited till after rain to spray to keep the dust low.I used rust-o-leum, oil based enamel, the blue color is marketed for boats, the white i guess is the stuff you paint fences with?

yes i used chrome polish on the bumper and wheels to clean up some rust, the front bumper is too rusty i need to use a wire wheel to get the rust off, so i just left it for now.
don't know about colombus, i am going back to antarctica for 6mo in aug.

Antartica? That sounds like a very interesting journey albeit a bit cold. What to you do there for? Chuck
