Hi Steve,

Assuming you have an original style 2441SA vacuum-secondary AFB, the following two links should provide you with everything you need to know.

You can trace each port by using an air hose, or a pressurized can of carb cleaner. Direct the spray or air into the outlet and see where it exits in the carb. Watch your eyes, don't get too close.

There should be a small threaded one, I think on the front of the carb for distributor vac, been a long time since I've used one of these. Gary

here is a picture of my carb with the connections i need to identify ..

3 at the front and the top one in the middle on the side, i know that the 1 at the back on the left is the fuel inlet

I'm pretty sure the small one on the lower rt. front is for the distributor, it's the only one I remember using. Gary

I agree with 55vicky. I suspect the large front one is manifold vacuum for either a PCV valve or power brake booster, and the one on the passenger side top is a bowl vent to charcoal cannister.

Check out the edelbrock site for a user manual for a 1406 carb. Looking at the front of the carb the higher small port on the left is ported vacuum. The large center is manifold vacuum for power brakes or pcv. Lower right small port is also manifold vacuum if I remember correctly.
