Got our new timing sets in after a considerable wait. That seems to be the way of the world now days. Anyway, they are a true roller, 9 way adjustable, nitrided gears. We've installed one and gears are a good fit on on the shafts and chain feels snug, no excess slack as we've seen with some sets.U.S. manufacturer.

Cool. What's with the different colored link? Is it a master link?

Charlie, it is where the ends of the chain are joined but not removable. I wish there were 2, 12 pins apart like they used to be. Made alignment easier.

I must say that my install was easy, removed once to reset cam timing, went right back on. It fits like a glove, the key secures gear from "backlash" but the two slide on/off with just a bit of lubrication and the chain tension is crisp and not at all sloppy.

Thank you for the feedback on the roller timing set. We have installed a few here and the chain tension has been very consistent. I was beginning to think that the blocks varied a lot after being line honed and installing the sets we used in the past but the variation no longer shows up with the new sets.
