Does anyone recognize this booster, it was in a 56 Ford at the Rockabilly show in Lake Havasu yesterday. Waited all day for the owner to show up, but never saw him. I like its fitment and appearance.

It looks like a dual diaphragm Corvette style booster + m/c. These are being copied by several sources like Speedway and others. I'm sure you can do a search on the net and come up with a bunch of vendors.

The way that one is mounted is flat against firewall.Usually they are mounted on an angle to give clearance around exhaust manifold. That car looks like it has headers. Can't tell for sure but it loks like the firewall has been reworked a little. There is an indentation where the master cylinder mounts and I don't see it on that pic.I have that setup on mine but it has a bracket that tips the booster on an upwards angle.

It is a chromed version of this one which is available from most of the likely retailers (Summit, Speedway, etc.) This is the Speedway stuff:

and Summit:

These are Chinese repops of a possibly existing booster but after much searching of those manufacturers couldn't come up with a vehicle that used the as original equipment. The chromed version in the original photo posted above double the brass colored unit. The master cylinder is a 67-76 Corvette. I have seen the same booster used with Ford master cylinders on the Performance Online catalog. Looks like Summit has the best price.

It looks like the set-up I use that I got from Old Irish Dave on ebay. The master cylinder is 77 Corvette, but he didn't tell me what the booster is.As Mark says, that one is mounted a little differently than mine.

And by the way.........Dave sells them for a lot less than the two posted.

Yep...and for us Tbird owners who have a stray 600 bucks laying around, this could be yours:

Also for Tbird owners, I talked with Irish Dave a few months ago, he doesn't do Tbird conversions at this time.

Supercharged.

I see guys doing the power brake conversions on the Y-Block applications.
When I did my disc brakes, I used all Ford Parts.
Grenada spindles, rotors and calipers.
I did not go power. I used an aluminum master cylinder from a ford Grenada as well. ( no rod adjustment was required.)
You will need some stainless brake hoses from speedway. You will see what I mean when you do the install.

Stops GREAT! This is in a "Hot" 312 '56 Fairlane with a toploader 4 speed trans. It will stand on its nose!!

I am getting weaker as age sets in, however still don't need the power brakes.

Just my ten cents.

Jim, I have the same experience. My 56 has Granada spindles, etc. Used an adjustable porportioning valve to get front and back balanced. Works great without a booster. Had discs on the front of the 66 Fairlane GT and no booster, no problem stopping it either.

I also have the Granada disc brake conversion, with the Granada master cylinder, stopping is good with the set-up I have, I just thought there might be some improvement with the power assy., if it's negligable I might as well stay with what I have. Thanx, Gary
