I found this on some site called the hot rod company. They say Demon is to release this in December. It is a direct replacement for stromberg 97, or holley 94.

Yep, you're right it is made by Barry Grant.
All those "just for looks" 3-2 set-ups just got a lot more interesting and maybe even more valuable! Here they are on the Y intake or go to barry grant site to see, or here.

I just looked up Barry Grants' site and found this new Demon Carburetor. They were priced at about 425 Dollars each. The primary has the choke and the idle adjustments and the ends are without. Sounds like a good setup, but to me, they seem very expensive. I don't know what the new 94's cost, but if it is this costly I think I will wait.

Thanks, I have an old Offy(I know they do not flow well) triple manifold with Holley 2110's and am using it for a door stop. When I was pricing the Barry Grant carbs my wife looked at me and commented."you already have enough different carburetors to stack them all together and build some kind of modern art statue" I don't think she yet understands this obession. Oh, well, at least she doesn't give me a hard time about it . I have a selection of four barrels to play with when I finally get my new motor built. I think that is the way to go for me with a touring street machine. However, If you ever decide to sell your setup let me know. Ha, Ha

Cactus, I'm also not trying to sell anything here, I run a Barry Grant Demon on a 408" Windsor in a pro street Ranger. It puts any Holley I ever owned to shame. I admit the prices seem high (but then all prices seem high to me anymore) but under an air cleaner it will look "Vintage" and according to what I've heard, They work. No leaks, no reset the idle three times a day etc. etc.

There’s an in-depth article on the Barry Grant “Demon 98” 2X3 carbs in the September 2007 issue of Rod and Custom (page 26) and they are being fitted on a Y. And ditto on what Frank said about the problems around using those old carbs. And here’s a pic of what they look like on a Y intake.

I sure would have liked to compare that setup with my blue thunder and eldebrock when I dynoed my yblock. I've got to wonder what it would've done.

In case you haven't seen them if you look on the vintage speed site they have the holly 94's there, as well as the single parts to repair what you have. looks like a nice web site, they also have alot of 3 two setups.. And I have an old fenton manifold with the holly 94 set-up f-100 bob

That manifold sure would look good with an aluminum thermostat housing (Frank hint, hint).

Y, Not supposed to be extremely loose, no. It does need to have some small amount of clearance to allow for various thicknesses of thermostats and gaskets. As long as the thing can't leak an excessive amount of water past it it's probably OK. The depths and diameters were determined by measuring an original housing and about ten different thermostats. the Thermostats and the housings all were different. This is obviously one of the problems of "reverse engineering".
