I am new to this forum and I am looking for some help. I have a friend, who knows nothing about computers or forums but has a vast knowledge of Y block ford automobiles and parts. He has been building and modifying them for fifty years. In that time has accumulated two huge storage building full of parts. I mean everything you can imagine from heads, pistons, blocks, fenders hoods, you name it. Problem now is he has to get out of the storage sheds and is looking for someone to take all of their contents. Yes all! He does not want to piece the stuff out, just find someone who will make him a reasonable offer on the lot and take it.
I am looking for a lead, someone I could hook him up with to make it happen. The parts are in the Sacramento, California area. If anyone knows of someone who would like to have this stuff I sure would like to get in contact with him or her. My friend does not want these parts to go to the scrap yard when someone restoring a car, or has a used parts retail business could put them back to good use.
Post a message or drop me a note at ml_woy@midtown.net.

Off the top of my head, try this guy. He's in CA.. Henaults Enterprises, La Grange CA. Michael at 209-852-2476 or E mail henaults@jps.net As far as I know he currently deals in driveline parts mainly, but you can give him a try.

mi woy: I understand why your associate wants to sell the whole lot at once.. however, at this point in time, that likely is a hard sell, due to amongst other things, the current economy & the ever dwindling availability of reasonably price storage space. He might want to consider selling in "lots" of parts, say cylinder heads, crankshafts & so on. Then groups of body parts etc... It would be very sad if because no one can be found that that can handle the whole ware houses full.. they ended up being lost to a scrap yard. Something to consider...

ml woy do you know what is the timeline for losing the storage space?

There is not an immediate hurry on getting the stuff out. The guy has been talking all summer about getting the stuff gone. But the sooner the better as it is costing $400 per month to store it and he can use the money for other projects. If you are at all interested let's start a dialogue and make something happen and get these parts out to someone who can use them!

You can buy good 45-50 ft box trailers for pretty cheap, I have bought 2 recently, they are not taxed as buildings and hold lots of good parts, they can also be moved across country at will. Who ever buys the parts may need one to move them anyway.

I know I'm new here, but I would gladly volunteer for the nor cal contingent if that's what needed to happen. I would hate to see our dwindling resources further depleted because this couldn't be taken care of in a better way than "off to scrap" because no one could bulk it out.

One other question? He has been building and modifying them for 50 years? any famous names associated with these parts?

Lets us Nor-Cal guys meet up and at least go look. There could be a few things we could salvage from the place... Anyone from Nor-Cal, folks who are interested please drop me an email at ghsthrss@gmail.com

Cannot really tell you that, I have not gone through the stuff and looked for labels. When you are purchasing a cheap horse you really don't go through and check every tooth in his mouth. Just kind of look at the overall animal and decide if $1,500 is a fair price for a whole building full of parts. How often do you get complete engines, and boxes of pistons, camshafts, rods, clutch parts, bell housings, transmissions for such a ridiculous low price.

ml woy - I can't argue with the premise or the maybe the price if $1500 buys the lot, for me I just don't have anyplace to put that horse. I respect the owners desire to see his collection go to good use, and appreciate his financial dilemma. Please keep this forum posted if the owner decides to alter his marketing strategy, good luck.

Yes, storage problems for one can become a storage problem for another. The amount of stuff will fit in one storage space given he has the sheet metal for the Victoria stored in the space as well as the parts.
