Loaded up and ready to pull out tomorrow. I talked to Yahaa Bill, he and Reed are going to try to drive down from B'ham and James Potter said that he was going to try to make it up. Should be a fun weekend and the weather is going to be nice. They are having their 22 annual car show and swap meet plus the gassers and FE's will be racing sat night. Ya'll come if you can.

OK, just made it home and I am pumped! Unfortunately Bill, Reed nor James were able to make it, so I was all by my self in a group of scrubs and FE's but I still had a great time. The car ran great, can't say the same about the driver. I went out in the first round of the gasser race, not my fault, the tower entered the wrong index. The guy that I ran offered to run again, but I had also entered the gamblers race and it was coming up next and I had to cool down. Went out in the first round with a 7 thous redlight. They were running a .500 tree and I had a .493 light. My best time was a 8.09 and I was running 8.12 to 8.21 on all of the timed runs, best mph was 85.798. Got to see if I can find a chart to see how these times would compare on a 1/4 mile track.

Hell Bill, I don't know what it was doin (pulling the wheels), I was too busy just trying to keep it in the black! I was by myself, that was why I was hoping you and Reed would be able to come, but I understand. The car seems to be hooking pretty good, but I know already that running a 1/8 mile, that I need a taller gear or shorter tires. It was still pulling hard at the finish and even though I still have a 6000 chip, I never hit the rev limit. I never thought that I would like an 1/8 mile track, but this was a blast. I had an 8.09 for a best run, but I think 7.50's would be easy with shorter tires or a taller gear. I have been talking with James Potter, so go ahead and put it on your calander for next year, we are going to have a get together there next Oct. We are not going to call it a Y block shootout or a 57 Ford shootout, but just a get together for all 50's/60's Fords as long as they are Ford powered. I'll be passing along more info in the near future so everyone can make their plans far in advance. So bottom line if you are in the the south and are interested let me know. Also our yankee friends will be invited if they want to get out of the great frozen north for some southern hospitality. More to come in the next weeks and months.

Glen, as fast as your car was running I'm sure it was pulling the front tires off the pavement. Great runs you were making and making us all proud!

So whats that racy looking Falcon running? Maybe a scrub! Great shots of the car and of you wiping the Mustang. You really captured the old gasser look. Can't wait to see it at the nationals. Chuck

6.145 @ 85 mph, not bad for the 1/8 mile.

Oh that would be awsome Tim, but they had some display lights out, the time was 8.145 @ 85. Chuck, you don't know how many times I was asked if that was a scrub motor that day by the younger crowd. This was the first run of eliminations and it sure did hurt because I had that FE powered Mustang covered, but a .008 redlight put me on the trailer.

I saw 6.145. Any future race, you've just detuned it for reliability. You just want to have fun, not necessarily set any records

Great job and sounds like fun Glenn, would love to get out of this frozen north, in detroit at the moment, but one of these days my job may get me down that way. I have visited Bill and Reeds, Teds, Mummerts, and Lon in aussiland from my job.
