Hi

I spoke with Jerry (Yestertech) Christenson a week or so ago and he said the Y block shirts were gone and he wouldn't be ordering any more.

He felt the market was saturated and he would end up holding a lot of unsold shirts. And you can't blame him for that.  To add insult to injury the last time he ordered shirts the printer messed them up.

I don't know what a minimum order would be but should there be enough interest and buyers willing to pay up front maybe we could persuade Jerry to place an order. That way he wouldn't have to work off his own dime.

Between myself and friends we're good for four, maybe five.

Anyone interested?????

Thanks

Missouri Mike

Hey guys

Been off the computer for a few days or I would have said it sooner. I'll give Jerry a call tomorrow and ask him what the minimum order he would have to have or if it would be OK to use his design.

If someone could put up a photo of the shirt it would be very helpful to those that haven't seen it before.  Otherwise, the only thing I can suggest is to look in the magazine that showed Ted and his crew at the engine competition.  Right now I can't remember (CRS affliction) the mag name or the month.

Can anyone help me out with this info?????????

Thanks

Missouri Mike

Here is the pictures of the t-shirts.

Front

Back.

I would like to have these also. My old ones are fruit of the loom shirts and 4XL size, but would like to have bigger if possible. And maybe other HollowHeads would want these also?

Hey All,

My twin brother owns a screen-printing shop and I'm going to have him print some Y-Block Ts for me. I can have him make some extras and put them on his etsy store.

Also, he's going to print on the back of my coveralls, and I'm going to have some welder's beanies done too. I'll take pictures of them and see what you guys think. There will be a ton of extra beanies because I have to order them in bulk; I like to wear them when I have to roll under the car on a creeper, cause there is no bill and they stay on better.

He's a graphic designer too and I have him working on something, but if anyone has a design idea, I can see what he'll do.

Sounds good to me. We'll continue investigating the possibilty of using Jerry's design but I'm sure I couldn't have them done any cheaper than family. Chuck

Here is a mock up of what we have so far. We could put something on the back too. I was thinking of changing the Y picture to a set up with tri power and T-Bird Rocker covers, with either ram horns or headers, but let me know what you all thinkBigGrin .

Looks good, except the BLOCK needs to be straight and not saggy in my opinion, regards bill.Smile

I agree, if anyone has a good picture of their y-block on a stand, and wouldn't mind us using it as a model for the shirts, please send them my way. We could use it draw something a little more performance oriented. I google image searched some pictures, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I sent my bro a few pics to see if he could mix-n-match parts/pictures, which he can, it's just going to take a while to draw something up. If we had a nice close-up of a Y at a good angle, that would sure helpWink

Hey Johnny

Looks good!!!!  I'd buy a couple of these as well as Jerry's desiogn.

I've tried Jerry a couple of times so far today but no luck.  I left my number and asked him to call but I will continue to try to reach him.

How about something a little more modern? Chuck

By Johnny Mainline - 12 Years Ago
Chuck, Nice! I hope to have something like that someday, but I'm going to have to get a job some place besides a non-profit firstTongue I especially like the angle of the picture, now if it only had some exhaust manifolds or headers on itWink

I haven't taken delivery yet. Its down at Ted Eatons in Texas. He may have taken the supercharger off by now. He is going to do a dyno using a McCullouch supercharger for a comparison. I'll look and see what other pic's I have when I get on my home computer. I might have some shots with the McCullouch setup and exhaust. Chuck

I don't recall who owns this engine but its a bit more complete and traditional. Chuck

Hey Guys

This will be the third time I have written (?) and tried to post this message and my one typing finger is about down to a nub.

But here goes....... I spoke with Jerry Christenson this evening and after telling him there was still interest in his Y block shirts he said he would be placing an order when the holidays get closer. When he orders it's a minimum order of 36 shirts.

He did say he would only be shipping once a week due to the distance to the post office and time involved (and I would add cost of gas). I think we can all understand that line of reasoning.

He did indicate his concern with the cost of shipping, which of course he has no control over. The size of the shipping boxes have shrunk while the cost continues to go up. It now costs over $5 to ship a single shirt. He told me it was much more cost effective for a buyer to ship multiple shirts.

He is not willing to let anyone else use his design (and I don't blame him) but does support the idea of someone coming up with another shirt design to help promote the Y block.

One thing I detected in our conversation and strongly suggest to my fellow Y guys. Give Jerry a call at Yestertech (952) 933-3672 to confirm the interest I claimed is out there. He's a super nice guy, a pleasure to talk with and this will guarantee another shirt order.

Chuck, thanks for the pics. Sweet motors! I have my brother following the thread, hopefully he can use them to change the pic up a bit. I think it would be much cooler to see some performance engines on the shirts.

Mike, thanks for checking with Jerry. Unless he's good friends with his printer, maybe my bro can get him a better deal. I know he usually starts price breaks at orders of 24. Also, we live in Oregon and there is no sales tax. We are originally from Iowa and send shirts back to some friend's businesses, and depending on the order, that can almost cover shipping costs. I don't blame him for wanting to keep his shirt design, it makes it more unique and a lot of time and thought goes into them. I especially like all the listed facts in his designSmile If this might be something he's interested in, he can email my sister in law at april@bluemillscreenprint.com for a quote. They do good work, I get lots of shirts from themWink

In the mean time I'm going to have him do some shirts/coveralls and hats for me. I'll post the final designs for anyone else that wants them, and have him print extras for whatever sizes people send me.

I just got my coveralls from Red Kap, they are really cool. He's going to print Bloody's Garage on them and then some kind of vintage looking logo with the y-block V8. I'm working on my 53' out of a little one stall apartment garage right now, but I have my own brandingHehe

Johnny

There's a reason Jerry calls his business Yestertech with the slogan, "The trailing edge of technology".

No email and no computer.  The thing to do would be to telephone him at (952) 933-3672.  Like I said, he's a nice guy and it certainly wouldn't hurt to talk to him.

I'm down for buying a shirt or two....I especially like Johnny's design....but might I suggest a small Y Block design on the front chest and the main, larger design on the back?

I'd be down for one of Jerry's also! Cool

By Johnny Mainline - 12 Years Ago
For sure, that is kind of what I thought my bro was going to do in the first place, but this is mock up he sent me. I'll see him tonight and pitch some new ideas to him.

Jim did some a few years back with the Y-Blocks forever logo on the front. On a pocket I thinkHehe. That seemed like a nice look. Then a color picture of a dressed up Y on the back would be neat. And don't forget some black shirts. White dosen't last long on the track. Chuck
By Nighthawk756 - 12 Years Ago
Yep, I'd probably buy black and white if it was offered.

Although I'll have to vote for no "pocket". I'm not a fan of pockets on t-shirts....but that's just me. Wink

By Johnny Mainline - 12 Years Ago
He usually has black and white in stock at all times, making both colors won't be a problem. I'm not a huge fan of the pocket T's or v-necks, and they may cost a buck or two more, but if anyone requests them, I'm sure we can do those too without any problemsSmile

I was hoping he'd have my coverall design done by tonight, but he wouldn't show it to me yet...
By Johnny Mainline - 12 Years Ago
My brother just finished the logo for the back of my coveralls! Our last name is Bloodgood and we created the logo based off of the lettering on my dad's old motorcycle helmet from the 60's. He's going to get a pair for Christmas, but doesn't know it yet shhhhhhh...

Next, he's going to be fine tuning the Y-Block shirt design, hopefully they'll be ready soon. His business picked up so it has taken longer for him to get to the fun stuff. BigGrin

I just talked to my bro about 5 min. ago, he was bogged down with a ton of big orders last month, but should have some time coming up in the next week or so to work on it. He was still trying to find a y-block picture, on a stand that is at the right angle and has good lighting. My new air cleaner will hopefully arrive this week, once it's here, I'll set up the studio lighting and get some pics. She's pretty plain Jane though. 292, a 4 barrel Holley, Lettered FORD stock covers, and ram horns.

We were kind of hoping to find a good picture of a set-up with tri-power, headers, and some finned aluminum rocker covers( I haven't been able to afford those goodies yetBigGrin). However, all of the pics we find/keep coming up with, aren't at the right angle, have lighting problems, become pixelated, etc...

He said he'll work with me later this week when his schedule frees up a bit and that we can try to have some pics to post on here and some shirts in a few weeks! The coveralls turned out really cool! Here's a pic of my pops and I working on my 53' when he was visiting me at Thanksgiving. It's Johnny powered right nowTongue

My brother put the Shirts on his production board!

I should have a design to show early next week if every thing goes to planBigGrin I'll post any ordering information then too.

Sorry for the delay, he had to work on it in his leisure time, or I would have had to scrounge up some funds to speed the process along.Wink
