Our manifold change over has been trying. I had to get to a foundry that could make them faster so Edelbrock was a good choice. BUT, they couldn't make them from the existing pattern so it had to be re-worked. This took much longer than expected. Then there was problem with the location of 1 one the linkage bosses (my fault). The water core was also too far forward, not my fault. These changes have been made but it seems like a good idea to make 20 or so to be certain that everything is okay. Those were supposed to be done today.
So, as soon as I get them they will be machined to check for problems.
If all is okay we'll go for the full order. They can make around 65/hour so my order can be finished before the coffee break. Shouldn't run out again.
Got a call from another foundry today. They have our logo valve cover castings done. Hope they look good. This has taken about 3 years to make happen! Will drop off the shortened timing cover pattern while I'm picking up the valve covers. The cover has been in the works even longer. Where does the time go?
PS: put a bug in Vic's ear about making their valve covers again. Sounded interestedHmmmm....I've been holding out for yours but I might have to go ahead and get a B for the time being. Good luck on getting it going, sounds like dealing with the foundry's has been very tedious to say the least.
I thought Vic was already making their valve covers again? Could've sworn I'd seen them for sale lately (new not NOS)?
