Stu, You need to do an article for The Y-block mag. We think it's hard to build one in the US, but Can't imagine trying it in "Old Blighty"

I got the old war horse "Brick" out the other day and cleaned it up a little. My hope is to put it back on the street some day.

Charlie You should leave it just like that, only make it street legal. Still looks good!

Really enjoying these F trucks!!!!!!!!! Very neat!!!!!!!! And Charlie, I have to agree with grlbird, make it street legal but please DON'T change the looks. What with the great racing history behind it, the "look" is right as it sits. Best to all Missouri Mike

Charlie, I know its your truck and you can do whatever you want to it BUT if you make it street legal it would be the only ProStreet Y-Block truck I know of. What a blast it would be at the big shows. I vote with the rest keep the race paint and lettering and just make it a street machine. Chuck

Hi Frank "Can't imagine trying it in "Old Blighty" main problem is shipping costs, eg. just purchased 2 groove w/pump pulley via E-PAY $34 postage $41 then import duties plus tax about another $30 ouch. its got real bad over the last couple of years Charlie, keep the lettering i just love the way you fellas seem to make it look just right. never seems to work right over here. stuey

Dennis, thanks for posting the pictures, I always enjoy seeing your truck. I know I told you that my dad purchased a new 55 F100 and I drove it to high school. The thing that gets me, it was the same color as yours with big and littles. Man, every time I see your truck it immediately takes me back 57 years.............no, that can't be right...........guess it is.

Does this count?? LOL She's definitely a project but ohhhh the dreams of what she'll be when I'm done. Already have my 56 292 that I'm stroking to 318 with Johns goodies going in it. Have all my sheet metal to repair the cab, just need to make the time to get her stripped and primed to start the work. This pic is the day I drug her out of the field she'd been sleeping in for about 30 years.

Here's my current shop truck project. 1962 F-100 SWB Unibody, 292, 3 speed, 3" lowering springs, new brakes, shocks etc. I'm going to fix the rust and blend in the paint leaving as much original as possible. Put the headliner and visors in it today. I would like to add exhaust manifolds, an intake, a 500 Edelbrock and a C-4 as I go.

I am happy to annouce that I am the proud new owner of a 1961 F-100, it has a straight six with a three on the tree, she has a little rust in the cab corners, but other than that she is pretty straight, and it runs!

Here comes some pictures from a frozen old girl from Sweden. The daily driver had shot a spring, big time, so meanwhile that piece of Sh..t was in the garage waiting for sparepart the old girl hade to be parked outside. Atleast I got some good pictures...enjoy. The old girl is waiting for here owner to gather a budget for a rebuilt engine from Tim Mcmaster. We´l see how long time it takes.

Another nice truck. Looks ready to go to work! Didn't the step side get a little rare in these years after the changeover to flat sides? Chuck
|
By joey - 11 Years Ago
|
Yes. I think it's too bad the step sides have sort of gone with the wind over the years. They are really a functional part of the pickup bed. Anyway, those running boards are original. Just needed to weld in some new steel where they bolt to the rear fender, and tap out a couple dents.

Are any of these trucks going to be at the F-100 Supernats and all Ford show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee May 16-17-18? Just think, "All Ford Show", you don't have to look at any junk to see the good cars. I plan to be there on Saturday.

Here is my project. Getting ready to finish the chassis this week and then will remount the cab and get it as square as I can before I tackle the body. It was hit hard on the right front sometime in the past. The right door post has to be straightened and some body panels have to be replaced. Notice the MIG weld job and pop rivets. Looks like a shade tree body man without any shade.

Ok good i spent an hour this morning trying to figure it out. The truck is 100% complete but rough in the typical areas. I rescued it out of a local junkyard about a month ago. Absolutly love the style of early 60s fords car or truck
