He has passed but the legend will live on forever. I was lucky enough to own a '66 Sunbeam Tiger for a couple of years back in the late '70's. Shelby was also involved in installing the 260 Ford in them as well as building the Cobra. It was truely the "poor" man's Cobra. He was an Americian Icon.
