Mark,

I bought some stuff here in Australian from http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/Ford%20Customline%201955-59.htm  called Rubber Gloss & Lubricant 50ml which seems to be a rejuvinators. Which I bought as an extra with some seals and stuff. I never used it.

Armorall or I have also heard that vegetable oil is good as natural rubber is a plant product.

Sorry no definites just ideas

Cheers

If they're flat gaskets, you can buy sheet rubber and make new ones.

yeah, rubber in flat sheets... wonder where I can find that?  I've often wondered about this possibility... reckon someone in the Houston area would sell that??

thanks,Mark

Don't think they're in Houston, but it wouldn't cost much to ship.

thanks to all;

Charlie, I think McMaster may just be the place to contact for sheet rubber for gaskets, etc.

I have used A ziplock bag OR aluminum foil to put rubber parts in with Armorall or something similar and had really good luck with it. Just store them for a long period of time, days, weeks while you do something else.

Www.griotsgarage.com sells stuff for rejuvonating/preserving rubber. Ive never used it, but i have used a lot of their stuff and found it to be top notch. Might be worth a try.

NAPA sells packages of assorted gasket material that includes a thin rubber sheet. I've used this package alot for making different types of gaskets.

Just to add; McMasters has locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles and New Jersey. Pick closet to you if concerned about shipping. They have good prices on metal also and don't have minimum size order.

Also I have used sheet cork for tail light gaskets, etc.

I came across this site while looking for neoprene gaskets. They carry sheets of neoprene, and other exotic rubber like materials, which in my opinion, is superior to rubber. Rubber ages much faster and definitely doesn't like oil. I don't know what their prices are like.
