hi, does anyone have the factory literature on how they adjusted the carbs and chokes on a street e-bird 2x4 set up. i'd like to copy it if possible, for a friend, thanks.

Here are the instructions from the 1957 National Service Data book.Also check the TSB (product service letters) book on page 140.It pretty much spells out the same information.

The specific PSL is P 348.

I had to delete a picture from an earlier post to get this onboard.

Is there some way to not have pictures that I post deducted from my account?

Its like I have a finite amount of points that I can use and thats all.

If thats the way it is - so be it but I would hate to see information (in pictures) lost from this great site.

Oldmics:

Last evening I looked at my copy of the same info you posted.  I realized that they left out a very important step.  The fast idle cams must be pushed down so that they don't hold the throttles open as you back off the idle speed adjusting screws.  Don't know how they missed that.

ok, that means they are setting both chokes and high idle cams to be the same on both carbs. makes cence, since they're not useing progressive linkage, thanks.
