After looking awhile for a good (uncracked) 312 block I still haven't found one, found many cracked blocks.  It may be time to go the 292 route.  Anyone have a 1957 ECZ-6015-C 292 block in good rebuildable shape for sale? Randy

Hi Randy;

First, I don't have a block for you, but there are a couple on Ebay and some complete motors too. It depends on where you live as to whether it would be cost effective to get one. If I couldn't/wouldn't drive to get it, I would pass on it.

Also, if you are going to go the 292 route instead of the 312 route, I would suggest the C2AE 292 "truck" block. A good, strong block to start your build from.

Good Luck,

Rono

 I am trying to keep the car as original as possible that is why I am looking for a ECZ-6015-C block.  I had asked the two people that had 312 blocks on ebay last week if they would have the blocks cracked checked and if it passed add cost onto block cost, neither one would. I already have a couple of cracked blocks, I didn't want to buy anymore until they were checked. Randy

Hi Randy,

I have a 40-over 312 short block, 10 -10 on the crank. I can assure the block is okay.

I do not know where you live but I live in eastern South Dakota. Vince
