Jardine Headers

I was at the Bakersfield Reunion Races this last weekend and Jerry Jardine had a display in the pits.  One of his items was the y block prototype headers.  He said that he was going to refine this setup and send them to Ted for testing.  They are a tri-y design with 1 1/2" primary pipes.  He wasn't sure how many people would want headers for the early Fords and needed to have at least 25 to 30 orders for him to make them.  John Mummert would most likely carry the sales for the headers.  Soooo, the guys who have the mid 50's Fords need to call and talk to John and let him know their desire for the headers.  The races were cool also, about 50 front engine dragsters, 45 60's-70's funny cars and a lot of gassers and altereds.

Genuinerod,

I'm interested but not ready. As I'm in Australia and my car is right hand drive I have a set of issues with any set of headers. Starter steering box clutch and gear linkages are all on the right. but if they fitted once I get an auto in place, Well.

I show my inital interests and add to the possible numbers.

cheers

I'm interested but want to know the final price first. Chuck

I'm interested too for my supercharger build. Like Moonshadow, it would be nice to know a ballpark price.

I would be interested in a set for the T Bird.

Slumlord: Check Mummert's site or his ADs in YBM. I think he already has T. Bird headers available.

I thought Ted already tested the 1 1/2" ones and they were going to make some 1 5/8" ones in the future.

I am waiting for the 1 5/8 ones.

Looking for other options, hopefuly less expensive.

The Jardine headers being discussed are specifically for the ‘55/’56 Ford passenger cars.  In conversations with Jerry, there was no mention of him making a set for a ‘55-‘57 Thunderbird.  There are already several other companies out there making headers for the early T-Bird so I can see where Jerry would not want to make a duplicate of those.  On the flip side of this, if the Tri-Y design being worked up for the passenger cars ends up being a step above the conventional four tube header design, then the possibility is always there for a Thunderbird set to be worked up.

Jerry Jardine has worked up another set of Tri-Y headers for the ‘55/56 passenger car chassis and once those are in hand, I’ll test them on the same dyno combination that has been used on the other exhaust setups that have been tested.
